STRAWBERRY, THE DIRTIEST FRUIT IN THE WORLD

In a recent study in the United States by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) proved that strawberry is the dirtiest fruit in the world. In the annual survey conducted by EWG, a environmental non-profit and non-partnership organizations, beginning in January 2004, they have checked pesticide contamination against 47 different types of fruit and vegetables, which the results will be used as a guide to choose pesticide-free food products.

So far strawberry became one of the most favorite fruit for people. Its beautiful and tastes good that its healthy nutrition makes strawberry becoming idol fruit for some people. In the latest survey in 2018, strawberry dominate the  dirtiest 12-fruit and vegetable list which often called the Dirty Dozen. These food positively contain concentration level of pesticide residues which higher than other products:

2. Spinach
3. Nectarine

4. Apple
5. Wine
6. Peach
7. Cherry
8. Pear
9. Tomato
10. Celery
11. Potato
12. Sweet Pepper

The fact also revealed that almost 70% of sampled plants produced conventionally and non-organic are all contaminated by pesticides. One sample of strawberries just proved containing 20-pesticides, and 98% of strawberry, spinach, peaches, nectarine, cherry, and apple is declared containing at least one pesticide residues.

According to the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, a group of United States Government scientists, the easiest way keep clean and nutritious fruit and vegetables, you should it in running water. You are recommended to wash all fresh fruits and vegetables under the tap water at least 30-minutes before it is processed or consumed. So, you can eat the fruit that you like much safely.
